Note The clogs illustrated have extra thick soles

This is basically made the same way as a "Gibson", but with more attention to detail

The upper is made from three pieces of leather (with integral tongue), two "quarters" make up the "back" with a seam at the heel which is reinforced with a heel counter( a semi circle of stiff leather glued and sewn in the heel), and a "fillet piece" ( a strip of leather sewn on the outside, covering and protecting the seam).

Three or Four pairs of Brassed lacing eyelets can be fitted, in one of three sizes of eyelets, and additional eyelets can be fitted for extra decoration.

The surface of the leather can be carved either with a traditional pattern, or to your own design

Leather can be dyed black, red, blue, green, light and dark brown, and chestnut these are not bright colours, but rich and deep, I can also be supply natural (a light tan). All colours normally darken with age and polish. Uppers are always made from the same piece of leather, however, Leather is a natural material, and may not take the dye evenly, or Colour may fade, this is not a fault, but a feature of the material, and will add to the patina. If you have a particular colour in mind, I might be able to source something suitable, it may be an applied coating sprayed on a split and then put through patterned rollers to give a skin like texture to the leather.
